SD-WAN startup Viptela

Recently, Cisco has purchased the startup Viptela for 610 million US dollars, filling the gap in its SD-WAN product portfolio.

The deal can be seen as a “homecoming trip” for the top executives of Viptela, as its current CEO Praveen Akkiraju is a former Cisco executive, while Viptela co-founders Amir Khan and Khalid Raza are former Cisco engineers.
